We all know who George Washington is. And we all have an image of him in our minds when we think of him. But how accurate is this image that we have of him?
George Washington often claimed that he did not wear a wig, and that he only powered his hair. This was stylish during his time. But, if you think about it, we only have paintings of him. Portrait paintings can easily be faked! With enough money and influence, Washington could have paid his artist to make him look any way he wanted!
Washington is often quoted as saying, "I cannot tell a lie." Historians think that this quote is probably not real, and we have reason to agree! What if he was lying about the color of his hair all along? What if he was too self-conscious about his own image? Some friends and I have done some research on this silly yet serious matter! Check out our evidence that demands a verdict in the video below!
